From the above scripture, it means there is an author of confusion.
According to the dictionary, confusion is an act that causes a disorderly combination of elements with loss of original identity and a blend of different expressions. Any confusion that has left the Original Truth is become a lie.
John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
As a “father of lies”, he will have many children of lies which manifest in different religions. He will do all he can to fulfill

While so many gods represent different religions. They have one thing in common. They will never point man to the TRUE GOD (JESUS).
Finally, another way this can be looked at is that these many gods may also represent the one-third angels which fell with Lucifer from Heaven.
